ABOUT ALISHA
NAVY VETERAN
As a Career Development Consultant, much of my knowledge and expertise exude from my career as a federal Human Resource Specialist of 14 years. I am a Veteran of the United States Navy, where I honorably served for ten years, five months, and 16 days (I’ll never forget those numbers!). I graduated from Saint Leo University, a well-known and veteran-friendly educational institution, where I earned my bachelor’s degree in HR Management with a minor in Psychology.
I founded Alisha D. Brown Career Consulting, LLC DBA AD Brown Consults, utilizing the in-depth view of the rating and ranking of applications and resumes for the federal government’s hiring process. I set out to assist, educate, and motivate women veterans on developing tailored resumes and increasing their chances to live a comfortable lifestyle that their careers can provide. As a woman veteran, I know first-hand the challenge of removing the negative thinking that success is hard without the military. I distinctly remember a few Navy Chiefs telling me I would not succeed without the military. Look at me now!! This has driven me to help other women veterans because transitioning to a civilian career can be terrifying and challenging. However, a successful life can be lived after military service with the right tools and proper resources. As a representative of the women veteran community, it gives me great joy to be a resource and a success story for them to exemplify.
